Karat Medical Certified For Compliance
with New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene

NEW YORK, NY -- March 18, 2014 -- Karat Medical clinic received the highest mark from New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene.

Earlier this year, the Karat Medical clinic has been certified for compliance with the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene (NYCDHMH). After study of the treatment process and the back office organization Karat Medical received the highest score. This puts the clinic on the list of the best New York medical facilities.

Such multifaceted certifications are held every 3-5 years and are mandatory for all medical offices. The inspecting official is usually a high-class specialist with extensive training in the field of health-care legislation. In addition, data/documentation inspector is endowed with extraordinary powers, including the option of suspending and/or closing medical practices not in accordance with New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene.

Having carefully reviewed the documentation and organization of the therapeutic process in Karat Medical clinic, inspectors did not reveal any violation or non-compliance with the rules of New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene. Thus, the clinic of Dr. Alexander Karat successfully passed the certification, once again confirming the highest level of patient care and compliance with all the requirements in the field of medicine.

Both Karat Medical clinic and Dr.Alexander Karat are constantly moving forward, applying the most advanced technologies and scientific achievements in the field of rehabilitation medicine.

In late 2013, Dr. Alexander Karat participated in the 8th Interdisciplinary World Congress on Low Back and Pelvic Pain, held on October 27-31, 2013 in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. Congress gathered about 1,500 leading medical experts from around the world. Alexander Karat was the only Russian-speaking specialist representing the United States at the event.

Most recently, Alexander Karat participated in the 30th anniversary meeting of The American Academy of Pain Medicine, held on March 6-9, 2014, in Phoenix, AZ.

A few days after his arrival Dr.Karat participated in refresher courses at NYU School of Medicine.

Also, in June this year Alexander Karat has been invited to a meeting West Virginia Society of Interventional Pain Physicians (WVSIPP), to be held from 19 to 22 June 2014 in San Juan, Puerto Rico.

Thus, Dr.Karat actively participates in meetings with leading experts, closely monitors the news of Rehabilitation Medicine and is one of the first to apply new methods and techniques at the Karat Medical clinic.

Alexander Karat was pleased to learn that the state inspectors appreciated his actions during Hurricane Sandy, when the doctor rushed to rescue patients' medical records, ahead of the expensive medical equipment. That is why, unlike many other offices destroyed after Hurricane Sandy, Karat Medical re-opened in record time and is treating its patients now.
