Human nature isn't just about self-interest. It also includes sympathy, empathy, friendship, love, and the desire for social approval. As motives for human behavior, these are at least as important as self-interest. For many people, they are more important. Karat Medical gives money to our communities because we care about them and feel a responsibility to help them flourish. We sponsor and provide support for many community-based initiatives, child enrichment programs, and talented individuals. Please see below a short list of projects we have helped to happen.

International Children's Talent Development Fund      International Children's Talent Development Fund ( encourages the children of today to cultivate and develop their creativity and artistic abilities while building self-esteem as they grow into the leaders of tomorrow.

Children’s Talent Development Fund is a not-for-profit organization and is funded by sponsors. Financial support provided by Karat Medical helped CTDF to produce "Don't Worry Be Jewish", a musical with an all-teenage cast. The show debuted in 2008 and successfully ran off-Broadway for 16 performances.

In 2009, Karat Medical sponsored CTDF's songwriting and singing competition "Moya Pesnya" ("My Song").

Local Police and Business Cooperation

Just like many other businesses throughout the United States, Karat Medical has become increasingly involved in assisting local police departments. This help becomes more pronounced in times of tight budgets for governments that don't allow police to offer program they may wish to provide, attend training they may find beneficial, or buy equipment that could improve the effectiveness of police departments. Karat Medical has been and is donating to local D.A.R.E. and crime prevention programs, and recently provided prizes for children for helmet safety contests.
